1. What programmes does LSBF Malta offer?

LSBF Malta offers multiple 100% online postgraduate programmes across various fields, including a Masters of Business Administration MBA (Global), Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Innovation and Change Management, Masters of Science (MSc) in Strategic Marketing, and a Masters of Science (MSc) in Finance and Investments.

2. Is LSBF Malta accredited?

LSBF Malta is licensed as a higher education institution by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority with license number 2020-015.

3. What is the average class size at LSBF Malta?

Class sizes range from 10-40 students, but have a maximum capacity of 40 students to ensure a personalised learning experience for all online students.

4. Does LSBF Malta offer online courses and degree programmes?

Yes! LSBF Malta offers online postgraduate degree programmes, including an MBA (Global), an MBA in Business Innovation and Change Management, an MSc in Finance and Investments and an MSc in Strategic Marketing. 5. Are there career services available for LSBF Malta students?

Yes! LSBF Malta’s Career Services department is committed to student success inside and outside of the classroom, and offers Professional Workforce Development workshops throughout the academic year. Thanks to our partnership the Business Graduates Association, LSBF Malta students also have access to the BGA Career Development Centre which includes CV and job search assistance, skills assessments, and networking opportunities.

6. How do I contact the LSBF Malta student support team?

The LSBF Malta support team can be contacted through the blue chat bubble intercom on Canvas, the Canvas inbox, or the LSBF Malta support email (studentsupport@lsbf.edu.mt).

7. How can I access library resources at LSBF Malta?

Learning resources/Books are included for all students for free, and built into the Canvas platform. For additional reading material, students can access the Perlego digital online library. Perlego provides over 700,000 academic and professional eBooks with titles across 900+ different topics and sub-topics free of charge.

8. What technology resources are available to students?

LSBF Malta has invested substantially in developing cutting-edge offering and delivery of online programmes. Students in online programmes use Canvas LMS for the entirety of their studies. Students also have access to Perlego, a digital library that contains over 700,000 academic and professional eBooks. Through our membership with BGA, students have access to their resource library and Career Development Centre.

9. Are there support services for students with disabilities?

LSBF Malta offers a personal and confidential service to students in need of assistance with a physical or learning disability. Support available through the institution involves reasonable adjustments or provisions towards learning, assessment and general access in order for students to overcome obstacles caused by their disability or learning difficulty in order to reach their academic potential. 10. How can I access my student portal?

Students can access the Canvas portal (i.e. Learning Management System) through their registered email addresses.

11. What is the process for reporting grievances or concerns?

Students can refer to the Student Complaints Policy and Procedure located in the Student Handbook and on the website to learn more about how to report their grievances. LSBF Malta’s complaint procedures encourage feedback to enhance student experience, and ensures full confidentiality.

12. Can I request official transcripts from LSBF Malta?

LSBF Malta offers provisional transcripts (Notification of Results) which list the module marks the student achieved. This can be requested by students any time during their course. Upon completing the programme, students will receive the final transcript and certificate.

13. What are the admission requirements for LSBF Malta?

  1. Relevant undergraduate degree (any class, any subject area) or ACCA/CIMA or other equivalent professional qualifications.
  2. English language requirements:
    • IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
    • High school completed in English
    • Bachelors completed in English
    • 2 years of work experience in an English-speaking environment (upon approval by admissions board).
  3. Applicants who do not meet the stated entry requirements may apply via the Mature Route. Applicants will be asked to provide evidence of three years’ managerial work experience, plus certificates/ transcripts of their highest qualifications achieved to date. Applications via this route are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

14. How do I submit my application to LSBF Malta?

There is an application link found throughout the website, and your Educational Consultant can also provide the link.

15. What is the application deadline for upcoming intakes?

The application deadline is the start date of the programme.

16. Is there an application fee for LSBF Malta?

There is no application fee for LSBF Malta*

17. Can I transfer credits from another institution to LSBF Malta?

LSBF Malta offers the possibility for students to transfer credits from previous studies which is subject to confirmation by the Admissions and Academic board. Students can access our Recognised Prior Learning document here for more information.

18. Are English language proficiency tests required for students?

Students can provide one of the below requirements to support their proof of English proficiency:

  • IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
  • High school completed in English
  • Bachelors completed in English
  • 2 years of work experience in an English-speaking environment (upon approval by admissions board).

19. Can I defer my admission to a later intake?

Once acceptance is confirmed, the start date can be deferred upon completion of deposit payment equal to at least 1/6th of the tuition fees.

20. How is the academic year structured at LSBF Malta?

LSBF Malta offers start dates for online programmes in January, April, July and October. The programmes follow a carousel model with specific core and elective modules running in a particular term. The general structure for a programme is broken into three stages: core modules, elective modules, and a research project.

21. How many courses do I need to complete in each term?

You will begin your studies with a core module and then move on to elective modules, which determine your specialisation should you choose to select one. The research project will be completed at the end of your studies, after your research proposal has been submitted and accepted.

22. What is the purpose of core modules?

The core modules offered by LSBF Malta provide students with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles and theories, and help students to develop critical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The integration of different core subject areas helps students to develop a holistic perspective of business, while also laying the groundwork for deeper exploration of LSBF Malta specialisation programmes.

23. What are electives?

Elective courses allow students to tailor their education to their specific interests, career goals, and areas of expertise. Unlike core courses, which cover foundational topics required for all students, elective courses offer flexibility and specialisation.

24. How is the programme assessed?

Each module is formally assessed via one or more pieces of substantive coursework. The assessment profile is as follows:

  • Min. 80% of the overall mark shall derive from individual assessment methods (e.g. assessment, individual assignment, project or reports);
  • Assessment could also be provided through class-based activities: this includes online discussions and/ online quizzes.


25. What form does the teaching take?

The modules utilise a range of learning methods including video presentations, case studies, live online lectures using video conferencing tools like Teams, active student participation, teamwork, research, and other forms of independent and guided learning to enable reflection and self-discovery.

26. Is there a minimum attendance requirement for classes?

Weekly attendance is mandatory in all courses. Students are expected to log in to their online modules at least twice per week, and progress towards satisfactory completion of weekly assignments and/or discussion questions is expected on a weekly basis. Attendance is understood as logging in, reading the textbook and other study materials, watching the study videos, and engaging with the tutor and fellow students by posting answers to discussion questions, participating in different formative tasks, and submitting the final assessments.

27. What happens if I fail a module?

The pass mark is 50% based on the grading criteria. If a student is not successful, they can retake the module using the original brief and improving the previously submitted work. Deadlines will be advised at the time of the release of results. All resubmission assessments are capped at the minimum passing mark of 50%. 28. Are there opportunities for research or internships at LSBF Malta?

All graduate students complete a research project as a part of their required coursework. The research project aims to enable students develop relevant academic, internal, and external, business skills which are transferrable through practical application in their chosen discipline of study. The consultancy project seeks to address business critical issues which are company specific or applicable to an identifiable industry and are carried out to match the time scale of the student’s studies.

29. How can I access academic advising at LSBF Malta?

All students are welcome to send the Student Support Programme Administrator a message via Intercom using the blue bubble in the bottom-right corner of their Canvas account. If a message is sent within normal working hours, our Student Support Programme Administrator will respond within a few hours. Students can send a message to their tutors or programme leaders via Canvas’ inbox and can expect a response in 24-48 hours. Students also may contact tutors to schedule office hours to speak to them 1:1.

30. Can I change my major or specialisation after enrolment?

Students choose electives as per the programme lists mentioned in the Student Handbook. Students can change their specialisation at any time before enroling in an elective. Once the electives are completed, students cannot change their specialisation. If students decide to pursue the General Pathway (without specialisation) they have the flexibility to choose elective modules from their programme’s course list based on their preferences.

31. What resources are available for exam or assignment preparation?

Students are granted free institutional access to Perlego, a digital online library that contains over 700,000 academic and professional eBooks with titles across 900+ topics and subtopics. Students have access to various other free journal articles and publications via the online library.

32. How can I access the online learning platform?

At the start of induction, students will be sent an invitation to join LSBF Malta’s e-learning platform, Canvas, and to view resources in the Study Centre. New students will then be automatically enroled in their module on the term start date. After enrolment has been arranged by the student’s Admissions Advisor, students will be able to see a list of the module(s) they are currently enroled in and their study period start date. Students can click the link for the course they wish to start in order to enter the study platform, where they can access all the materials.

33. What academic support services are available for students?

LSBF Malta has a Student Support Team dedicated to best serving all students, tasked with addressing all non-academic and administrative concerns, providing the primary pastoral care to students, monitoring course participation, investigating delivery issues, and is ultimately responsible for communication with students throughout the programme.
